The Clarity Score
How we evaluate providers for you
The Clarity Score is a data-driven quality metric that every provider earns but nobody can buy. It measures six categories of real-world data so you can compare providers with confidence.
Why it exists
A score that is earned, not purchased
Most healthcare directories let providers pay for placement. That does not help you find the right care. The Clarity Score works differently. It is calculated from real, verifiable data: verified credentials, patient reviews, profile completeness, insurance listings, and actual response times.
Providers cannot influence their score with money. They improve it by being transparent and engaging with the people they serve.
What we measure
Six categories, one clear picture
Each category captures a different dimension of provider quality. Together, they give you enough information to make a confident decision.
Trust and verification
Is this listing real? We verify that providers have claimed their profile, confirmed their identity, and hold an active license with a clean record. Trust is the most heavily weighted part of the score because everything else depends on it.
Profile quality
Can you learn about this provider before your first visit? We look at whether the profile includes a photo, a detailed bio, contact information, education history, and other details that help you get a real sense of who this person is.
Patient feedback
What do other patients say? We factor in Google ratings, review volume, platform reviews, and whether the provider takes time to respond to patient feedback. A provider who listens to reviews is a provider who listens in the exam room.
Insurance and access
Can you actually use this provider? We check whether insurance networks are listed, whether telehealth is available, and whether the provider accepts Medicare. The best provider in the world is not helpful if your insurance does not cover them.
Transparency and engagement
Does this provider go above and beyond? We look for service pricing, posted office hours, listed sub-specialties, and hospital affiliations. Providers who share more information earn higher scores because transparency builds confidence.
Responsiveness
We track how quickly providers reply to patient inquiries. Fast response times mean the practice values your time and takes new patient outreach seriously.
Score tiers
What the numbers mean
Clarity Scores fall into four tiers. Each tier reflects a different level of data depth and provider engagement.
75 - 100
Full engagement across every category. These providers have claimed and verified their profiles, maintain strong patient feedback, share pricing and availability, and respond quickly. This is what a fully transparent practice looks like.
50 - 74
Claimed, verified, and showing real data. Strong providers have solid profiles with good patient feedback and most key details filled in. A few areas for improvement, but patients can make informed decisions.
25 - 49
Some data is coming in. These providers may have reviews or basic contact information, but have not claimed their profile or filled in key details yet. The foundation is there, but the full picture is still forming.
0 - 24
Minimal data available. These listings come from public registry records and have not been enriched or claimed. The provider exists, but there is not enough information for a confident decision yet.

Common questions
Frequently asked questions
No. The Clarity Score is earned through verified credentials, patient reviews, profile completeness, and responsiveness. There is no way to buy a higher score.
Clarity Scores are recalculated regularly as new data comes in. When a provider claims their profile, receives new reviews, or updates their information, the score reflects those changes.
A score of 50 or above means the provider has claimed their profile and has solid data across most categories. Scores of 75 and above indicate full engagement, with strong patient feedback, complete profile details, and fast response times. Even a score in the Building range (25-49) means real data is present.
Star ratings reflect one thing: patient opinion. The Clarity Score measures six distinct categories including verification, profile depth, insurance coverage, and responsiveness. A provider could have great reviews but score lower overall if their profile is incomplete or they have not verified their credentials. It gives you the full picture.
